The Permanent Missions

Over the last decades, the increasing density of multilateral relations has brought into being a new type of diplomatic mission, the so-called Permanent Missions to international organizations. They represent the Federal Republic of Germany at the United Nations in New York and its European offices and specialized agencies in Geneva and Vienna, at the EU and NATO in Brussels, at the OECD and UNESCO in Paris, at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg and at the international organizations in Rome. The Permanent Missions do not provide consular services.

Permanent Missions are headed by an Ambassador.
