Cooperation on EU issues with the federal states (Länder) and the Bundesrat

The right of the Länder to participate in EU affairs has been strengthened in both content and formal terms as a result of European integration. The political aim here is to compensate for their loss of domestic powers as a result of the transfer of sovereign rights to the EU by giving them the right to help formulate German EU policy. more
