Supporting Syria and its neighbours: London follow-up

At the Supporting Syria and the Region conference in London on 4 February 2016, the international community pledged around 12 billion US dollars by 2020 for support measures to help alleviate the refugee crisis in Syria and its neighbouring countries. The funds are intended to improve the living conditions of the people in the region and to offer them future prospects. more

Work to stabilise Iraq and Syria

Stabilising areas in Iraq and Syria liberated from so-called “Islamic State (IS)” is the highest priority. The efforts of the international community are initially focused on establishing basic services and a secure environment. Moreover, vital infrastructure is being repaired in order to help displaced people return to their home regions as swiftly as possible. more
